Sibu District Office

Sibu District Office is an organization that provides services under the State Administration of Sarawak. Sibu District Office operates at Level 4, Kompleks Islam Sarawak (Sibu) which has become a city landmark in Sibu.

History of Sibu District Office starting with the history of the existence of Sibu town, namely in the mid-19th century that at the time of political upheaval in Sarawak, of which at the time of the Sibu is a colony of the Sultanate of Brunei. As a result of these upheavals, James Brooke arrived in Sarawak in 1841 had taken opportunity to help the sultanate of Brunei in solving problems that occur. In response, the Sultanate of Brunei at that time handed Sarawak to Sir James Brooke in 1853 included Sibu.

Not long after the event, Sir James Brooke had built a citadel which is called "Fort Brooke" which serves as the central administration in Sibu.

Sibu District Office led by a District Officer and is an organization that provides services under the State Administration. The range of services available in Sibu District Office is managing the Administration and Accounts, Development and Public Affairs. Sibu District Office started operation from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
